Some Common Uses: Historically it was used to treat flu’s, fevers, colds and general malaise. The Native American Indians used it to break fevers by inducing heavy sweating.  It was also recorded to help with gout, arthritis and epilepsy.

It’s actions and properties are used as a diaphoretic, emetic, tonic, cathartic, antispasmodic, peripheral vasodilator, gentle laxative, and promotes the flow of bile in the liver.
