Some Common Uses: a strong general tonic for the mucus membranes, liver, and uterus and for the venous circulation. The action is tonic, laxative, alterative and detergent. It has traditionally been used for treatment of any infection, inflammation and congestion of the lungs, throat and sinuses.  It is a potent remedy for disorders of the stomach and intestines such as irritable bowel syndrome, colitis, ulcers and gastritis and internal parasites.
