Some Common Uses: aerial parts are astringent and antiseptic and may reduce blood pressure.  They treat sore throats, bleeding gums, hemorrhoids, and heavy menstruation.  Externally used to treat wounds and bruises.  When used as a tea, it treats fever, diarrhea, sore mouths and internal bleeding. The whole plant is used as an antiseptic, astringent, diuretic, hypothesize, and antibacterial.
